Marie Kreutzer (* 1977 in Graz ) is an Austrian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Marie Kreutzer grew up in Gleisdorf and Graz, where she attended the AHS model school, an alternative school with an artistic focus, which she graduated with the Matura in 1995 . From 1997 to 2005 she studied writing and dramaturgy at the Vienna Film Academy with Walter Wippersberg . With her first feature film Die Vaterlosen , in which she tells the story of a commune , she won the Grand Prize of the Austrian film festival Diagonale .

Your feature film The Ground Under Your Feet was invited to the Berlin International Film Festival 2019 in the competition for the Golden Bear .

Kreutzer lives in Vienna. She is the daughter of the Styrian Green Party politician Ingrid Lechner-Sonnek .
