Die Vaterlosen is an Austrian film by Marie Kreutzer and her feature film debut. After the premiere at the 61st Berlinale in February 2011, the film was released in Austrian cinemas on April 8 and in German cinemas on August 4.

When the common father of a hippie commune dies, the siblings come together again and meet their almost unknown sister Kyra for the first time in 20 years. When Kyra learns that her existence has been kept secret, she begins to trace ancient secrets. In flashbacks, the viewer gradually reveals what caused the collapse of the community back then. The gathering becomes a disturbing journey into their own past, which has a strong impact on the present and the relationships between the couples and siblings.

The film premiered on February 13, 2011 during the 61st Berlinale , and Kreutzer received an honorable mention in the “Best First Feature” category. At the Austrian film festival Diagonale in March 2011 , Die Vaterlosen received four prizes, including the festival's grand prize. At the Bolzano Film Festival 2011 the film was awarded as the best feature film, at the Five Lakes Festival with the young talent award .
