Sami Loris , also Sami Loris Hajjaj (* 1978 in Locarno ), is a Swiss actor .

Life

Sami Loris, born in Switzerland, grew up in Germany with German and Italian as his mother tongue. From 2000 to 2004 he received, u. a. with István Szabó , his acting training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna , where he graduated with an acting diploma. During his studies he made his first appearances in the Schlosstheater Schönbrunn and at the Theater der Jugend in Vienna. In addition to his main film and television work, Loris also played theater again and again later.

At the opening of the 2008/09 season he appeared in September / October 2008 at the Vereinigte Bühnen Bozen , alongside Gerti Drassl as Susanna, as Figaro in Peter Turrini's play The Greatest Day (based on motifs by Beaumarchais). At the Haag Theater Summer in 2009 he appeared as Le Bret in Cyrano de Bergerac . In the 2009/10 season he appeared, alongside Gerti Drassl and Wolfgang Böck , at the Walfischgasse Theater in Vienna in the world premiere of the new version of Peter Turrini's successful play Die Liebe in Madagascar . In 2011 he appeared again at the Haag Theater Summer , this time as Demetrius in the Shakespeare comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream . In 2015 he played alongside Geri Drassl and Krista Posch at the United Theaters in Bozen in the world premiere of the stage version of Sabine Gruber's novel Stillbach or Die Sehnsucht .

Sami Loris has appeared in many film and television productions since 2005. His film work began with the participation in short films; it followed some tiny supporting roles in successful movies, u. a. the Wachowski film Speed Racer (2008; as an Italian announcer) and Til Schweiger's hit movie Zweiorhküken (2009; as a waiter at the next table). He had his first leading role in cinema as a young musician in the English language comedy Must Love Death (2009; Director: Andreas Schaap ). In the Austrian film Die Vaterlosen (2011) by Marie Kreutzer , which premiered at the Berlinale 2011 and was released in cinemas in April 2011, he played Miguel, who learns that his girlfriend was in an abortion clinic.

In Lars von Trier's film drama Nymphomaniac (2013), he had a supporting role as a gynecologist who determines Joe's ( Charlotte Gainsbourg ) pregnancy. In the Austrian feature film Vals (2014), Loris played an Italian refugee who came to Valsertal during the chaos of war . In the Austrian feature film Gruber geht (2015; director: Marie Kreutzer) he had a supporting role alongside Manuel Rubey ; he played Henry, who quotes Bob Dylan and takes the terminal cancer protagonist he meets at the gym for a drink.

In the 90-min. SOKO-Leipzig -Special Terminal A (first broadcast: January 2010) he was seen in his first leading role on television; he played Robert Jennings, a US soldier who was previously stationed in Afghanistan and has now deserted and is being pursued by the US Military Police. In the TV movie Utta Danella - Who kisses the Doc? (First broadcast: April 2013) he played the fiancé Roberto, the future son-in-law of the male main character, a dentist in Bavaria ( Peter Sattmann ). In the television series Mordshunger - Verbrechen und other delicacies (2013) he had a continuous supporting role as a forensic scientist Arri Özer. In the international television series Borgia (2014) he played the small role of Cardinal Galeotto Franciotti della Rovere.

He also had episode roles in the television series Der Winzerkönig (2010), SOKO Cologne (2012; as a married pastor and lover Sebastian Braun), SOKO Kitzbühel (2015; as flight engineer Kevin Simma) and SOKO Donau (2016; as Robert Fichter, the father of one missing 15-year-old girl). In February 2017, Loris was seen in the ZDF series SOKO Wismar in a leading role in the episode; he played Marius Osterholz, a Schwerin architecture professor who tried to illegally fulfill his desire to have children with a surrogate mother . In March 2017 he was seen in the ZDF series The Specialists - In the Name of the Victims in an episode role as Berlin fashion designer Marc Bäumer.

Sami Loris, who has Swiss citizenship as well as German citizenship, lives in Vienna.
