Andrea Wenzl (* 1979 in Leibnitz , Styria ) is an Austrian actress .

biography

Andrea Wenzl attended the ballet school in her hometown of Leibnitz. She also worked at the Vienna State Opera , the Graz Conservatory and the Graz Opera . After studying acting at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz , the Styrian had a permanent position at the Schauspielhaus Graz from 2002 to 2010 . For the portrayal of "Alice" in Alice in Wonderland , directed by Viktor Bodó , she was nominated in 2008 for the Nestroy Theater Prize in the category "Best Actress". In both 2012 and 2013 she was nominated by the Kurier for being awarded a ROMY in the category “Most Popular Actress”.

From 2010 to 2011 Wenzl worked at the Vienna Volkstheater and in 2011 moved to the Bavarian State Theater . Since 2015 she has been engaged at the Vienna Burgtheater .

In 2017 she was seen for the first time at the Salzburg Festival . She played Lulu in a production by Andrea Breth in The Birthday Party , a play by Harold Pinter .

She has a daughter with the actor Dominik Warta .
