Cast at the Salzburg Festival from 2017
The list of casts for the Salzburg Festival from 2017 onwards includes all the artistic contributors to the play productions of the Salzburg Festival during the Drama Directorate Bettina Hering .
Conception
Bettina Hering, previously artistic director at the Landestheater Niederösterreich , is the first woman to program and direct the drama at the Salzburg Festival. Her first task was to fill the main roles of Jedermann am Domplatz, as Cornelius Obonya , Miriam Fussenegger (after only one season) and Julia Gschnitzer resigned from their roles as Jedermann, Buhlschaft and mother. Together with the artistic director of the Salzburg Festival from 2017, Markus Hinterhäuser , she entrusted Tobias Moretti , Stefanie Reinsperger and Edith Clever with these exposed tasks. She also made some changes: Christoph Franken , the devil of 2015 and 2016, takes on the role of Mammon . The new devil, Hanno Koffler , also plays the role of everyone's good companion . Johannes Silberschneider , the poor neighbor for four years , embodies faith from 2017 . The new poor neighbor is Roland Renner . The role of Guten Werke has also been re-cast, with the castle actress Mavie Hörbiger .
In an interview with the Austria Press Agency she announced: "My credo is certain to open the doors more in principle, to allow more and not to close oneself to life". The new artistic director cooperates with two theaters, which are also directed by women, the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg , directed by the artistic director Karin Beier , and the Vienna Burgtheater , directed by the director Karin Bergmann . Three of the four new productions are staged by women, the fourth by a directing duo consisting of a woman and a man. When choosing the pieces, none of which have ever been shown in Salzburg, the new theater director was inspired by Festival co-founder Max Reinhardt : “His approach of programmatic eclecticism, this diversity of forms in the theater, is particularly interesting. I really take him at his word in the new program. "
