Beatrix of Pilgrim

Beatrix von Pilgrim (born November 22, 1959 in Heidelberg ) is a German scenographer and visual artist who lives in Braunschweig .

biography

Pilgrim studied art history, literature and philosophy at the TU Braunschweig. She was stage and costume assistant at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg for well-known directors such as Ernst Wendt , Augusto Fernandez and Peter Zadek . She then studied stage design in the class of painter, director, set and costume designer Achim Freyer (UDK, formerly HDK) in Berlin. The course was flanked by assistants (with Achim Freyer and Robert Wilson) and first own stage work at the Volkstheater in Munich.

From 1993 to 1999 she was chief stage designer and member of the management team at the Freiburg Theater under the directorship of Hans J. Ammann. During this time there were many outstanding world premieres, especially in the field of new music theater.

In 1998 her work Rose Bernd was invited to the Theatertreffen Berlin. In 2000 she was involved in a dance production, Barbara / o, which is nominated for the Adelaide festival . 2001 Hyperion wins best opera work.

In 2008 she founded the independent label "lausundproductions" with the author and director Ingrid Lausund - five freely produced world premieres with changing ensembles that toured in Berlin, Hamburg and many other places.

From spring 2004 to autumn 2011 Beatrix von Pilgrim held a professorship for scenography at the State University for Design in Karlsruhe .
