Maik Solbach
Maik Solbach (born March 5, 1972 in Waldbröl ) is a German actor .
Life
Solbach completed his acting studies at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. While still a student, he made a guest appearance at the Vienna Festival in 1996 ( Alma - A Show Biz ans Ende , director: Paulus Manker ) and was engaged as a permanent member of the Burgtheater in Vienna . From here he moved to the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus , where he was voted Young Actor of the Year 2000 in North Rhine-Westphalia for his portrayal of the title role in Arthur Schnitzler's " Anatol ".
This was followed by permanent engagements at the Schauspielhaus Bochum and the Schauspielhaus Zurich . Here he played u. a. the title role in " Clavigo " by JW von Goethe, Marquis Posa in Don Carlos by Friedrich Schiller, Tom in The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams .
Under the direction of Karin Beier , he is a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspiel Köln . At the same time, guest engagements and a. to the Volksbühne Berlin , to the Salzburg Festival , to the Bavarian State Opera , to the Ruhr Festival Recklinghausen and back to the Burgtheater.
Since 2014 he has been working as a freelance actor with guest engagements a. a. at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg , Théatre National du Luxembourg , the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz , the Berliner Ensemble , the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence , the Théatre des Champy-Èlysées Paris and the Theater Basel . In 2019 he and Johanna Wokalek took over the actor's parts in the production "He takes her by the hand and leads her into the castle, the others follow" by Pina Bausch at the Tanztheater Wuppertal .
He worked u. a. directed by Karin Henkel , Jürgen Gosch , Matthias Hartmann , Roland Schimmelpfennig , Herbert Fritsch , Sebastian Nübling , William Forsythe , Katie Mitchell , Michał Borczuch and Sebastian Kreyer .
Maik Solbach is also active in film and television productions, for example in the movie A Gift of the Gods (2014) or the Netflix production " Time of Secrets " (2019)
In the summer of 2015 he was seen in the role of the fool at the Worms Nibelungen Festival. In 2017 he will make his debut at the Salzburg Festival in a production by Karin Henkel ( Rose Bernd von Gerhart Hauptmann ) and in the production Lulu by Athina Rachel Tsangari .
