Gerhard Rainer
Gerhard Rainer (born January 19, 1961 in Innsbruck ) is a former Austrian bobsleigh athlete .
He took part in the 1992 Winter Olympics. In a two-man he came in eighth with the Austria II bob with Thomas Bachler . In the four, the Bobsleigh Austria II reached tenth place with Thomas Bachler, Carsten Nentwig and Martin Schützenauer . In 1993 Rainer was sixth at the world championship with a four-man. At the 1994 Winter Olympics he was back on the Austrian Olympic team. Shortly before the start of the competition, however, he was tested positive for metandienone in a doping control and was banned for two years.
