Eva Herzig (born June 26, 1972 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian theater and film actress .

Life

Eva Herzig grew up in Graz and Upper Styria . From 1990 to 1994 she studied acting at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. From 1991 to 1999 she was a member of the ensemble of the Vienna Burgtheater , where she celebrated her breakthrough in 1995 as Juliet in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet . In 1993 she was named “Best Young Actress” by Theater heute for her role in Sunset . Guest engagements followed at the Schauspiel Bonn , the Schauspielhaus Zurich and the Theater Basel, among others .

After her screen debut in 1995 as Stella in David Rühms El Chicko , many other leading roles in cinema and television productions followed. In 2010, Herzig took on the lead role Katharina Lenz in the series Das Glück hier Erde .

The actress has two sons and has lived in Vienna since 2006.
