Jacques Reynaud

Jacques Reynaud (* 1960 in Milan ) is an Italian fashion and costume designer .

Reynaud studied fashion design in New York , where he still lives and works today. In Europe he was best known for his costumes for theater productions. His first work for the Italian director Luca Ronconi for his Peer Gynt production. Since the mid-1990s, he has been working with the US star director Robert Wilson on his worldwide productions. In Germany he created the costumes for the Wilson productions Ozeanflug in 1998 at the Berliner Ensemble , The Days Before and Poe-try in Hamburg , and Doctor Caligari at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin . In 2003 he created the costumes for Wilson's joint work with Herbert Grönemeyer and the Berliner Ensemble Leonce and Lena by Georg Büchner and returned to the Berliner Ensemble in 2005 for the staging of William Shakespeare's Winter Tale . In 2016 he was responsible for the costumes for L'incoronazione di Poppea at La Scala in Milan . In 2017 , together with Martin Zehetgruber, he was responsible for setting up the play The Birthday Party , directed by Andrea Breth, at the Salzburg Festival .
