The cast of the Teatro alla Scala from 2014 onwards lists all the performers of the opera productions of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan that have taken place or have been officially announced since the beginning of Alexander Pereira .

background

Even before Alexander Pereira took office, there was a violent conflict about his appointment, as he had bought a number of productions from his directorship at the Salzburg Festival for La Scala in Milan. Pereira justified his step by stating that taking over the productions was necessary for quality reasons and was essential for fulfilling the contract to play daily during the EXPO. There was talk of a conflict of interest and the contract was shortened to one season.

But after a triumphant new production of Aida by Peter Stein , Pereira's contract was extended until 2020. Riccardo Chailly has been Scala Music Director since January 2015 .
