Carmen Giannattasio (born April 24, 1975 in Avellino ) is an Italian opera singer (soprano).

Life

She studied piano and singing at the Cimarosa Conservatory in her hometown. She continued her studies at La Scala Opera Studio with Leyla Gencer . After her training, she sang Desdemona in Otello , alongside Roberto Alagna and conducted by Plácido Domingo , at the Los Angeles Opera. This was followed by appearances on the major music stages of the world a. a. in Berlin, Brussels, Milan, Turin, Bologna, Naples, Paris, Bordeaux, Stockholm, Edinburgh, Munich, Zurich, London, Washington, Santiago de Chile, Las Palmas etc. Her repertoire includes the great parts of her subject such as Violetta in La traviata , Leonora inIl trovatore , Amelia in Simon Boccanegra , Mimi in La Bohème , Fidelia in Edgar , Olympia, Giulietta and Antonia in Hoffmann's stories , the title role in Anna Bolena , Elisabetta in Roberto Devereux , Eurydice in Orpheus and Eurydice , the Micaela in Carmen , the title role in Alcina , Poppea, Fortuna and Venus in The Coronation of Poppea and others. a. m.

In addition to her international stage presence, Carmen Giannattasio is engaged worldwide as a song, oratorio and concert singer. Her repertoire includes a. Schumann's Das Paradies und die Peri , Mozart's Requiem , Pergolesi's Messa Romana and Verdi's Messa da Requiem (with which she made guest appearances in Rome and Moscow).
