Career
Sjarhej Kukuschkin began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of the HK Junost Minsk , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Belarusian extra league in the 2001/02 season . In the 2003/04 season, in which he competed in parallel for Junost and their second team HK Junior Minsk in the extra league, he won the double of the championship and the cup with Junost . Then the Dallas Stars became aware of him, who selected the attacker in the NHL Entry Draft 2004 in the seventh round as a total of 218th player. However, it was never used for the Texans. Instead, he spent the 2004/05 season in the North American Junior League United States Hockey League with the Indiana Ice.
In the summer of 2005, Kukushkin returned to Europe, where he received a contract with Kapitan Stupino in the Wysschaja Liga , the second Russian division. There he posted 32 scorer points in 45 games and recommended himself for an engagement in the Russian Super League , in which he was on the ice for HK Dynamo Moscow and HK Lada Tolyatti in the 2006/07 season . This was followed by a season at Metallurg Schlobin in the Belarusian Extraliga, before the left shooter from HK Dinamo Minsk from the newly founded Continental Hockey League was signed. For this he scored four goals in 45 games and prepared three more. Subsequently, his expiring contract was not extended and Kukuschkin joined city rivals HK Keramin Minsk , for whom he played for a year as well as then for his ex-club Metallurg Schlobin. Since the 2011/12 season he has been playing for HK Nyoman Hrodna .
