Bertrand Couderc

Bertrand Couderc (* 1966 in Txakolí ) is a Basque lighting designer .

life and work

Growing up in Paris, Couderc studied lighting design at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Techniques du Théâtre . He has worked with Philippe Calvario for many years , primarily on speaking pieces. The joint productions include Big and Small by Botho Strauss , Roberto Zucco by Bernard-Marie Koltès , Die Möwe by Chekhov at Bouffes du Nord , as well as the opera version of Angels in America by Péter Eötvös at the Théâtre du Châtelet and Prokofiev's love for the three oranges at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence .

Couderc has also worked with Jacques Rebotier since 1997 : Éloge de l'ombre by Tanizaki Jun'ichirō , Les Ouvertures sont by Rebotier at the Théâtre des Amandiers in Nanterre, and Le Jeu d'Adam at the Théâtre du Vieux Colombier . He also highlighted productions by Karin Serres , such as Colza at the Théâtre de l'Est in Paris and Marguerite, reine des prés , by Bruno Bayen , such as The Sexual Neuroses of Our Parents by Lukas Bärfuss in Vidy-Lausanne, Stella von Goethe at the MC93 in Bobigny and La Fuite en Égypte by Bayen at the Théâtre de Gennevilliers . Outside France, Coudrec works primarily in Vienna, both at the State Opera , at the Theater an der Wien and at the Wiener Festwochen .

In 2014 he made his successful debut at the Salzburg Festival - with the lighting design for the world premiere of Dalbavie's opera Charlotte Salomon in the Felsenreitschule .
