Federica Lombardi (born April 19, 1989 in Cesena ) is an Italian opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Federica Lombardi studied in Cesena at the conservatory Bruno Maderna, at the Liceo Musicale Angelo Masini in Forlì and since 2010 at the school ART-musica with Romualdo Savastano singing. She made her first appearances in important roles in 2014 at the venues of the Circuito Lirico Lombardo as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni and in 2015 as the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro . In summer 2015 she took part in the Young Singers Project of the Salzburg Festival . During the 2015/16 season she was a member of the Accademia di Perfezionamento per cantanti Lirici at La Scala in Milan . In April 2017 she made her debut there in the title role of Donizetti's Anna Bolena and in May 2017 as Musetta in Puccini's La Bohème .

She made her debut as Contessa Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro in October 2015 at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and then embodied this role in September 2017 at the Bavarian State Opera in a new production directed by Christoph Loy . During the rehearsal phase for this premiere, she made her house debut shortly beforehand as a step in in the role of Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte . She first appeared at the Metropolitan Opera New York in January 2019 as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni .
