Miah Persson (born May 27, 1969 in Örnsköldsvik ) is a Swedish opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Persson grew up in Hudiksvall and studied social sciences and law in Stockholm before she began her vocal studies at Kulturama ( Operastudio 67 ) and Operahögskolan in Stockholm. She made her operatic debut in 1998 as Susanna in WA Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro at the Confidencen in Solna .

As a member of the ensemble of the Royal Swedish National Opera , she developed a broader repertoire and sang in operas by Mozart , Handel , Verdi , Bizet and Richard Strauss , among others .

She sang at the leading opera houses in Paris, New York, London, Berlin, Brussels and Vienna as well as at the Salzburg Festival , the Proms , the Glyndebourne Festival and the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence . Since 2016 she can be seen as Governess in The Turn of the Srew at La Scala in Milan .

In addition, she also appeared as a concert singer with the major European and American orchestras, a. a. with the London Symphony Orchestra , the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra .

She is married to tenor Jeremy Ovenden; the couple have a daughter and a son. The family lives in England.
