Marcel Herrnsdorf (* 1994 in Mainz ) is a German actor .

Life

Marcel Herrnsdorf made his first stage experience at the State Theater Wiesbaden . In 2010 he joined the Junge Staatsmusical at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden as a member of the ensemble. He had his first stage role in the 2011/12 season with the role of Randolph McAfee in the musical Bye Bye Birdie . This was followed by roles in the musical productions Xanadu , Sugar - Some Like It Hot , Hair , The Little Horror Shop , The Full Monty - All Or Not , 42nd Street and The Secret of Edwin Drood .

In the 2014/15 season he played the main youth role of 14-year-old Donald Delpe, suffering from cancer, in the world premiere of the musical Superhero at the Wiesbaden State Theater . In the 2014/15 season he also had his first guest engagement in the drama of the Staatstheater Wiesbaden, where he played the young Rafa in the German premiere of the play Junge im Tür by Juan Mayorga. He also played the courtier Cornelius in Nicolas Brieger's Hamlet production.

Marcel Herrnsdorf completed his acting studies from September 2015 to 2019 at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich . In 2018 he received the Ensemble Award for the production Time to Love Time to Die (Director: Robert Lehniger ) of the Otto Falckenberg School at the Theatertreffen German-speaking drama schools .

During his training he played in several productions at the Münchner Kammerspiele , where he a. a. appeared in productions by Frauke Poolman and Christiane Pohle . In 2016 he also appeared in Peter Stein's production of Mozart's opera Die Zauberflöte at La Scala in Milan . In the 2019/20 season he will appear at the Stadttheater Fürth as Mathieu in the play Return to the Desert by Bernard-Marie Koltès .

Herrnsdorf also stood in front of the camera for several film and television productions. He lives in Mannheim .
