action

Donald is 14 and is fighting against time because he has cancer and it doesn't look good. He risks a lot, balances on the edge of roofs. It doesn't matter anymore if he falls. His life is over before it really starts. And above all: it can't be that he has to die a damn virgin. He likes Shelley, a local girl, but chemo has stolen all his hair, he's a freak. How is he supposed to do that? In Donald's head and in his sketchbook, Dr. Gummifinger and his super sexy lover Nursey are about extracting the bone marrow from the superhero Miraculous Man in order to become immortal himself. But Miraculousman is not that easy to come by. Miraculousman, this is Donald's hero. The parents can no longer really get hold of their boys. Because of his experiments on the verge of death, they draw psychologist Dr. Adrian King for advice, who specializes in the doomed. Donald gets involved with the "shrink". Which, it turns out, isn't the worst thing, because Dr. King wants Donald to grant his last wish.

Special features of the musical

The table of contents suggests that you are not dealing with a good-mood musical here. Anthony McCarten has made a tight stage version of his novel, which repeatedly breaks the drama with comedy. This comedy is human, the actions of the characters are realistic and understandable. What's new: It combines comic reality with a real character.

Awards

Superhero was nominated for the German Musical Theater Award in 2015 in the categories of Best Director and Best Choreography .
