Nina Schneider

Nina Schneider (* 1973 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian author, actress and translator.

Life

Schneider grew up in Germany and the USA. After training as a musical performer at the Conservatory of the City of Vienna Private University , she completed a social and political science degree in English at the British Open University , which she graduated with a Bachelor (Hons) in "Social Sciences and Politics"; she is also a graduate of the Celle School . After working as an actress and singer in pieces like The Rocky Horror Show and Singin 'in the Rain , she turned to work as a writer and translator.

She wrote various shows and musicals, including the musical comedy Das Greingold or Marder unter uns (music: Johannes Glück), which premiered at the Old City Theater Grein . She also worked on the theater soap Jägerstraße - the Grätzl soap on behalf of the Viennese cabaret Simpl ; She also wrote as an author for the ORF soap Mitten im 8en . In 2007 she won the “ Frank Wildhorn Award for Musical Theater” in Graz for her piece Show Dogs with the music of the composer Paul Graham Brown . In 2017 her musical Luther Rebell Gottes (music: Christian Auer) premiered at the Stadttheater Fürth.

Schneider wrote the German versions of the musicals Whistle Down the Wind , Artus-Excalibur , The Pirate Queen , Bend It Like Beckham , Closer than Ever , Superhero and Dynamit as well as the German new versions of the musicals Spring Awakening and The Producers .

She also wrote the lyrics for the German versions of film songs of various television series and feature films, including The Ice Queen II, The Lego Movie II, Aladdin (2019), Ugly Dolls, Mary Poppins return , chaos on the net , Olaf thaws , Small Foot , Peter Rabbit , Hotel Transylvania 3 , The Incredibles 2 , Rapunzel The Series , Netflix ' The Who Was Show ; she also translated the song Daughter of the Sea for the computer game World of Warcraft , together with Tommy Amper.
