Who was …? - The series (originally "The Who Was? Show") is an American television series that has been running on the Netflix streaming service since May 2018 .

The series is based on the English-language book series of the same name , which is designed for children and young people. In this series, famous personalities and their work are presented according to their age.

As part of a fictional television production, young actors are shown preparing for their role as historical figures. These personalities interact with each other over the course of the show. The performance takes place in the form of sketches , songs and animations .

Action (selection)

In the first episode, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson are shown at Independence Hall after the debate over the United States' Declaration of Independence . Franklin explains that they wrote the statement together in three days. What follows is a flashback that shows Franklin only changed one word. Shortly afterwards, the first annual explanation award ceremony takes place.
