Doris Knecht
Doris Knecht (* 1966 in Rankweil , Vorarlberg ) is an Austrian journalist and writer.
Life
Since 1985 Doris Knecht lived mostly in Vienna . In 1989 she began her journalistic career with the Viennese city magazine "Falter" , where she then worked from 1995 to 1998 as deputy editor-in-chief .
In 1998 she switched to the news magazine “profil” . From 2000 she worked for the Zürcher “ Tages-Anzeiger ”, where she published a weekly column until mid-2006. Since 2005 she has published a weekly column in "Falter". From 2006 to 2017 she wrote columns for "Kurier", daily for the first few years. Since 2017 she has been writing a regular column for the “ Vorarlberger Nachrichten ”, since 2018 also a column for “ Standard ”.
Occasionally Knecht also appears as a DJane .
Doris Knecht has two children whose growing up she repeatedly addresses in her texts.
Prizes and awards
- With her novel Gruber gehts Knecht made it onto the longlist of the German Book Prize in 2011 . The film adaptation of Gruber goes (with Manuel Rubey and Bernadette Heerwagen ) was released in Austria in early February 2015.
- 2013: Book Prize from the Ravensburger Verlag Foundation for the family novel Besser .
- 2018: Book Prize of the Viennese Economy
