Jakob Schäuffelen (born September 19, 1967 in Munich ) is a German film director and screenwriter .

biography

Jakob Schäuffelen was born in Munich as the son of the Czech actress Tamara Kafka and the German psychiatrist and artist Konrad Balder Schäuffelen . He studied directing at the Vienna Film Academy and at the Hamburg Media School and worked as an assistant director to Oliver Hirschbiegel , Jörg Grünler and others. In 1997 he made his debut as a director on an episode of the ZDF series Ein Fall für Zwei .

Numerous orders for ZDF , Sat.1 and ProSieben followed . In 2002, the Edel & Starck series was awarded the German TV Prize, for which Jakob Schäuffelen directed the pilot film and the first two episodes, cast the leading roles and shaped the style. In 2003 the series was also nominated for the Adolf Grimme Prize .

In 2004, Schäuffelen's film Abgefahren - full throttle into love with Felicitas Woll in the leading role came into the cinemas. He then directed the first four episodes of the ZDF series Kanzleramt , the four-part Donna Roma and two other romantic comedies for Sat1.

In 2012 he produced and shot his first documentary film Vollkontakt - Ein Lebens-Weg about young Berliners and their passion for mixed martial arts . He directed the first eight episodes of the ARD series Heiter bis tödlich - Alles Klara with Wolke Hegenbarth in the lead role and the ZDF series Die Bergretter .

Jakob Schäuffelen is a member of the Federal Association of Directing .
