Andreas Gruber (2019)

Andreas Gruber (born November 2, 1954 in Wels , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian screenwriter , film and television director .

Life

In his youth, Andreas Gruber was active with the Wels scouts , as were his three brothers and his father Josef Gruber .

From 1974 to 1982 he studied scriptwriting and directing at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna . From 1979 he was assistant director to Axel Corti .

He taught as a professor at the University of Television and Film in Munich , where he held the chair for direction, dramaturgy and production of feature and television films as well as managing director of the department for cinema and television films. In 2020, Julia von Heinz and Marcus H. Rosenmüller will take over the management of the cinema and television film directing course as a dual leadership , as the successor to Andreas Gruber, who will retire in October 2020 and head the department for 18 years.
