In the name of honor is a German television film by Andreas Gruber from 2002. It is the 12th film in the ZDF crime series Bella Block .

action

Bella Block actually has a day off and is with her partner Simon Abendroth near a café when a man is shot almost in front of her eyes. In their investigation, Block noticed above all the emotional coldness of the victim's wife. Neighbors say the Bottings' marriage was not for the best. He worked as a teacher and was so involved there that his wife felt neglected. A high life insurance in favor of the wife could also be a motive.

Commissioner Block is also doing research at the victim's workplace and learns that Rainer Botting is very committed to the Albanian schoolgirl Bea Fishta. The investigator follows this lead and finds out that Bea confided in her teacher because she was sexually abused by her father. Bella Block suspects the murder of Botting to be an act of concealment and wants to hold Bea's father responsible, but the latter escapes. Bea blames herself for the fact that she was actually to blame for the death of her teacher. If she had been silent, he could still be alive. Her brothers don't want to believe what Bea says about her father. They were convinced all along that she was in love with her teacher and that he had offended her. According to their religion, the head of the family is responsible for restoring the family's honor. When Bella Block tracks down Bea's father, he and his two sons are holed up in a house. With the help of her rabbi, Bea's father can be persuaded to give up. He had admitted the murder of Rainer Botting to his sons.

The delicate interplay of the Islamic way of life in everyday German life offers a lot of ignition and discussion topics. ”Conclusion:“ In the name of the viewer: first-class crime fiction ”
