Death of a Girl is a German television film by Markus Imboden from 1997. It is the fourth film in the ZDF crime series Bella Block .

action

In the high-rise district on the "Hoffnungsberg", 13-year-old Claudia fell to her death from a great height, although her family actually only lived on the fourth floor. Commissioner Bella Block and her team are exploring the hot spot of prostitution, drugs and alcohol addiction. She also immediately meets Tommy, a young person who sees himself as a “contact person” and leads a youth gang.

The Commissioner finds it difficult to believe in the suicide theory of her colleagues, because there have been too many "suicides" in this settlement lately. The mother of the dead is also convinced that her daughter was killed. Bella Block tries to find out more about Manuela Meng, the victim's girlfriend. However, the girl is closed and inaccessible. Bella Block is sure that the girl is prostituting herself and that her mother will tolerate it. After all, it helps replenish the miserable household budget.

After Manuela's mother is attacked, she makes a statement to the police. She accused the officers of the criminal investigation agency "Hoffnungsberg" of corruption. For years they have overlooked various offenses in the district and were rewarded with “nice girls”, among other things. It was therefore possible that a proper prostitution ring could develop. Fatally, Clara Meng speaks to Commissioner Fischer, the head of the criminal investigation agency "Hoffnungsberg".

During the investigation, two pimps are murdered in the high-rise district. It looks like Tommy and his gang tried to keep things tidy here. Since he is in love with Manuela, he does everything in his power to remove the pimp from access to her. Although Tommy is aware of the consequences, he makes a confession to Bella Block. He is hoping for some consideration, as he can also reveal some details about the pimp ring and the involvement of the police officers. By his reference succeeds Bella Block and her team of two officers from the criminal investigation department "Hope Mountain" to transfer it as just an eight-year-old girl at a Free deliver. This is how the Commissioner found out that her colleague Fischer had manipulated her investigation the entire time in order to distract from herself. She arrests him and demands a confession from him, but he weighs it down and interprets his pedophile inclination only as an addiction. He likes such young girls and when he got too close to Claudia, she jumped out of the window out of fear of him.
