Lorenz Claussen (* 1955 in Kiel ) is a German actor .

Life

After graduating from high school in Flensburg in 1974 , Lorenz Claussen studied mathematics and computer science in Braunschweig and Munich . In Munich he also worked as an actor, first in the play Bavaria Loas by Philip Arp (Theater am Sozialamt ( TamS )), the festival production of the Munich Theater Festival 1979. This was followed by further work in the independent Munich theater scene. From 1979 to 1981 Claussen took acting lessons, for example with Susan Batson from the Actors Studio . In addition, he trained as a puppeteer , and until 1994, while working in the theater, he was involved in the shooting of 75 episodes of the NDR puppet series Hallo Spencer (text and direction: Peter Podehl and others).

In 1981 he took an engagement as an actor at the theater Die Tonne in Reutlingen , 1983 at the Zimmertheater Tübingen . From 1984 to 1988 Lorenz Claussen was a member of the ensemble at the United City Theaters of Krefeld-Mönchengladbach and from 1988 to 1992 he was a permanent member of the Mannheim National Theater ; from 1992 freelance at the Staatstheater Stuttgart , the Schauspiel Bonn and the Theater Essen . From 1993 to 2002 Claussen worked at the Schauspielhaus Zurich and from 2002 to 2005 at the Theater Aachen .

Since 2005 he is u. a. at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden and at the TamS-Theater Munich, 2012 at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz , Berlin. In his theater work, Claussen u. a. worked with the directors Anette Spola, Siegfried Bühr , Gerardjan Rijnders, Hans Peter Cloos, Jörg Hube , Nicolas Brieger , Uwe Eric Laufenberg , Dieter Giesing , David Mouchtar-Samorai and Ruedi Häusermann . Since 1983 he has also taken on assignments for film and television, some of which were nominated at international film festivals (including: Locarno 1996, 2014; Berlin 2005 (First Steps); Cannes 2006).
