Games of Power - 11011 Berlin is a German TV drama by director Markus Imboden from 2005, which was produced for Westdeutscher Rundfunk .

action

Political scientist Sara M. Kardow is planning to quit teaching at Humboldt University and move to her partner in Hamburg . In a TV political talk, however , she impressed the Chancellor so much that he wanted to bring her to his advisory team. But it is not that easy to get; she makes demands. Sara wants the Chancellor to gain credibility and to take a clear position in the public about his role in a recent party donation affair. At the same time, she reveals that some people from the closest staff in the Federal Chancellery want to weaken the position of the Chancellor by embarrassing press releases. While working for the Chancellor, Sara receives very incriminating material about the donation affair. She forwards this to the President of the German Bundestag , but at the same time demands a public statement from the Chancellor. It also makes further cooperation dependent on this after the no longer entirely loyal head of the Chancellery had to resign as a pawn .

Trivia

11011 Berlin is the official postal address of the German Bundestag . The film shows the address on the envelope in which Sara sends the incriminating material about the donation affair to the President of the Bundestag. Director Markus Imboden and leading actress Martina Gedeck have been a couple since 2005.

criticism

“In his quiet but gripping political crime thriller, Markus Imboden ('Hunger for Life') paints the picture of a frozen government apparatus that is concerned with maintaining power. The cast is really great. "
