Imogen Kogge (born February 8, 1957 in Berlin ) is a German actress and radio play speaker .

Life

Imogen Kogge studied acting at the Berlin University of the Arts from 1976 to 1980 . Her first engagement took her to the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg in 1980 , where she stayed until 1984. She celebrated her greatest successes with the directors Peter Stein and Luc Bondy from the 1985/86 season at the Berlin Schaubühne on Lehniner Platz . She was permanently employed there until 1997, after which she began working as a freelance actress for television and film. An outstanding example is the film Nachtgestalten by Andreas Dresen from 1999.

In the ARD series Polizeiruf 110 , she took on the role of Chief Inspector Johanna Herz from 2002 to 2010 , with whom she became known to a wider audience - also thanks to the high audience figures. Furthermore, she worked (as a guest) at several theaters and extensively as a speaker for radio plays at various German broadcasters. She hired director Hans-Christian Schmid for his film Requiem . In the film, which premiered in the 2006 Berlinale competition , she played Sandra Hüller's mother , who was awarded a Silver Bear for her performance .

From 2005 to 2010 Imogen Kogge was a permanent member of the ensemble of the Schauspielhaus Bochum , and between 2011 and 2013 she played at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus . Since then she has been working freelance again.
