occupation

Verdammte Sehnsucht is a German crime film by Bodo Fürneisen from rbb from 2008. It is the 295th episode in the film series Polizeiruf 110 and the thirteenth case for master master Horst Krause and the ninth case for his partner Johanna Herz.

action

Eighteen-year-old Felix Preyer is found dead in a forest. Detective assistant Katrin Schubert found a strong alcohol odor and the later autopsy revealed massive alcohol intoxication as the cause of death. Preyer attended a nearby elite boarding school and was seen there as polite and well-behaved, so that excessive alcohol consumption does not suit him. Certain injuries suggest that something has been instilled into him against his will.

Commissioner Johanna Herz and police chief Horst Krause first investigate in the vicinity of his classmates in high school. Roommate Bastian Kröner describes Preyer as a bit stubborn, who did not allow himself to be dictated and did what he wanted. He also enjoyed great acceptance among the teachers because of his mature demeanor. For the Commissioner, none of this speaks in favor of her own fault.

In order to be able to ask around undisturbed in the boarding school, Krause goes “undercover” as a temporary worker in the boarding school kitchen. He soon noticed Clemens Auer and Viktor Schneider who were apparently putting younger students under pressure. Krause therefore asks Bastian Kröner, who has just been harassed by the two, but remains silent. Otherwise, the factory owner's son Justus Gruneberg has a certain special position, as his father constantly supports the boarding school with small financial injections and expects certain benefits for his son in return. The inspector finds the involvement within the students quite conspicuous, but she does not find any solid evidence that would justify a murder.

Preyer's parents make a very reserved impression on Commissioner Herz. They explain that they wanted to give their son the best possible start for his later life through boarding school. Accordingly, it does not fit into her “plan” that her son had a relationship with the much older kitchen worker Margot Kollmar. Strangely enough, the woman disappeared on the day Preyer's death. It turns out that Preyer's mother arranged for Kollmar to be released to keep her away from her son. Herz can track her down and finds her totally drunk. After hours, when she was ready to talk, the inspector learned from her that after a phone call with Preyer, she was supposed to meet in a forest hut. There, however, students from the boarding school were waiting for her, who raped her and gave her boyfriend lots of alcohol. While Justus Gruneberg missed Kollmar, Clemens Auer and Viktor Schneider held Preyer so that Bastian Kröner could fill him with alcohol. According to Gruneberg's statement, everything should be just a joke, during which they had no idea that he would end up like this, because the victim could not tolerate the sudden alcohol due to his abstinent lifestyle and died from it.

criticism

Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv appreciates: “By immersing yourself in the microcosm of boarding school, there is something artificial about this thriller from the start. In such a unreal world, the story, which is somewhat over-constructed in the end, is easier to accept. "

The critics of the television magazine TV Spielfilm gave it a medium rating (thumbs to the side) and commented: "Unfortunately, this is only class average".
