Reviews
“ Rich colors against black is a metaphor for life and death that makes you think about important aspects of our life: Who are we? What do we want from life? The ambivalence of the film characters in particular stimulates questioning. "
“German filmmakers have devoted themselves to the 'senior cinema' in different ways in recent years. Andreas Dresen crossed boundaries with a very open view of aged bodies, while Leander Haußmann chose the more mass-appropriate form of a comedy. Heldman has chosen a very calm approach. The camera work leaves space and time for the precise and nuanced play of the actors. The director successfully relies on the gentle conveyance of emotions. "
background
The script is based on the real suicide of an Austrian couple who were friends and neighbors of Sophie Heldman's parents. The license plates with GX used in the film stand for the fictional city of Gleixen .
