Lena Lorenz is a Heimatfilm series that was produced by Zieglerfilm Munich on behalf of ZDF and ORF in 2014 and 2015, and since 2016 by Ziegler Film Berlin. The main role of Lena Lorenz was played by Patricia Aulitzky until 2018 , and since 2019 she has been played by Judith Hoersch .
action
When Lena Lorenz has had enough of the hustle and bustle in the hospital in Berlin, she decides to relax on her parents' farm in Himmelsruh for four weeks. Unfortunately it is not quieter there either; her mother Eva, her grandfather Leo and her old friend Julia do not welcome her with open arms. Nevertheless, Lena decides to stay in Himmelsruh and to open her own practice.
Each episode consists of a framework story about Lena's family and friends as well as individual, complete stories about a pregnancy that Lena looks after as a midwife.
background
The first two episodes were broadcast on April 8 and 15, 2015 by ORF 2 , and one day later by ZDF. These were so successful that four new episodes were commissioned, which were broadcast from April 6 to 27, 2016 on ORF 2 - again one day later on ZDF. From February 2 to March 23, 2017, four more episodes, each split into two parts of 45 minutes, were broadcast on ORF 2. The four new episodes were broadcast on ZDF from March 9 to April 6, 2017, both parts on the same evening.
