Murali Perumal

Murali Perumal (born February 28, 1978 in Bonn ) is a German actor of Indian descent.

Life

Murali Perumal grew up in Bonn, where he graduated from high school in 1997. From 1998 to 2002 he studied acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. During his studies he got his first TV role in the ORF series Dolce Vita & Co , where he played a newspaper seller. This was followed by a role in the movie Anatomy 2 . After completing his studies, he made his theatrical debut at the Magdeburg Theater in the play Heaven and played in the three-man play Maurer in Frankfurt / Oder, both under the direction of Matthias Brenner . This was followed by pieces in Potsdam and roles at the Münchner Kammerspiele and at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz Berlin under the direction of Thomas Ostermeier .

At the same time, Murali Perumal shot television and cinema productions, including Die Musterknaben 3 - 1000 and a night with Oliver Korittke and Jürgen Tarrach and night shift at the side of Armin Rohde and Ulrike Krumbiegel . He also appeared in episodes of the crime scene , including as a villain in the Hamburg crime scene on the side of Mehmet Kurtuluş .

So far he has made more than 60 films in Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland and the USA, among others.

Most recently, Murali Perumal played in the Hollywood production Big Game - The Hunt Begins with Samuel L. Jackson in the lead role, a Pentagon analyst alongside Jim Broadbent , Ted Levine , Felicity Huffman and Victor Garber, and took on the role of Driss at Theaterforum K3 (2001) Komödienhaus in Heilbronn in the stage version of the hit movie Pretty Best Friends and the role of the political editor Brand in the play Carambolage at the Nestroyhof Hamakom / Salon 5 theater in Vienna.

Murali Perumal is actively committed to equal rights for actors with a migration background. In an open letter to the Süddeutsche Zeitung , the German-Indian actor criticized z. B. the casting policy in German-speaking theaters. He is a member of the association Das Göthe Protokoll , which is committed to the diversity and integration of minorities in Germany until 2013.
