Night Shift - I'm Afraid is a German feature film from 2008. It is the fifth part of the film series Nachtschicht .

content

The fifth film in the crime series is about violence in schools and in the family as well as illegal employment without a residence permit.

When the teacher Violetta Kiesewetter confronts André Eggers, the father of a pupil, with the fact that his son is apparently being beaten by him, he dismisses it as a private matter. After Kiesewetter called the KDD office anonymously, Lisa Brenner and Teddy Schrader visited the Eggers. Eggers suspects who has informed the police. He assigns the little crook Prokopp to scare the teacher. He lies in wait for her in a parking lot, but Violetta Kiesewetter defends herself with a switchblade that she had taken from another student a few hours earlier. His father Hajji Ramzi is also known to the police. He produces counterfeit branded goods in a textile factory and is said to be involved in human trafficking. Kiesewetter first stabs Prokopp in the thigh and then rams the knife into his stomach, whereupon he dies. During the investigation, the police again encounter Eggers, as he was seen with Prokopp in a restaurant that evening. Violetta Kiesewetter presents photos to Lisa Brenner from the KDD, which prove that Johnny Eggers was beaten. His father claims that it was not him but another boy who beat up Johnny. Since he cannot prove a crime, he is allowed to leave the police station after an interrogation and see the teacher. Erichsen and Schrader drive to Violetta Kiesewetter and storm the apartment in which Eggers threatens the teacher with a gun. Eggers shoots and hits Schrader in the head. At the hospital, the doctor explains that Schrader is in a vegetative state and that his brain has irreparable damage.

criticism

"Book, team and actors are great!"

background

  • The fifth part of the series was shot under the working title Die Angst in April / May 2007 in Hamburg by Network Movie, Cologne (Reinhold Elschot) on behalf of ZDF. The successful team of the Criminal Police Service (KDD) was again originally cast with the actor quartet. What was new, however, was that Ken Duken officially dropped out of the series afterwards (the character he embodied, Teddy Schrader , was seriously injured on duty and is in a coma). Lars Becker was again a screenwriter and director.
  • The film was released on DVD with Night Shift - Bloody City on April 24, 2015.
