action

The young waitress Nina is broke, her boss, the restaurant owner Pavel, would like to lend her money, which she refuses. She continues to live with her grandmother, who has dementia, in a cottage in the country. Hannes is about to marry his fiancée Karen, but the two actually have very different interests: While Karen loves adventurous challenges, Hannes is more of the conservative type who prefers to keep everything in order and not be in the hustle and bustle. Nina should take over the wedding preparations. After initial misunderstandings and arguments, Hannes gets closer to Karen again and the two decide to let their wedding, which had initially been canceled, take place. When Hannes sees a group of ambulances on the way to the church, he realizes that Nina's grandmother, who was always very close to her, has died.

At the funeral of Nina's grandmother, Tom, who was Nina's lover in the meantime, gave her a piece of paper because of his own remorse, on which Hannes wrote a message to her. Nina hastily leaves the funeral of her grandmother and drives her car to the church, where Hannes is about to marry Karen , at top speed of fire engines with the Martinhorn switched on. Even before Nina arrives there, Hannes has already refused to say yes and leaves the church, where he meets Nina, who has just arrived outside the church.

Hannes and Nina express their love for each other and at the end of the film they marry to great applause from the guests present.
