Wetlands is a TV film from the ARD crime series Polizeiruf 110 . The film was produced on behalf of Bayerischer Rundfunk and broadcast for the first time on Sunday, November 27, 2016 on Erste . It is the twelfth case of the Munich police call investigator Hanns von Meuffels .

action

Julia Wendt was admitted to closed psychiatry five years ago because of an arson attack on her husband. She is now being released and the retrial for her case should begin in four weeks. Since she feels monitored and threatened, she seeks help from Chief Detective Hanns von Meuffels, who arrested her at the time. When she is run over in front of his eyes and dies in his arms, von Meuffels investigates the case. A list of black money transfers that Wendt had handed over to the tax investigation was not processed; it was later burned in the archive. Von Meuffels is looking for this list. He is observed and pursued by the LKA, two thugs beat him up in the presence of an LKA commissioner. Von Meuffels rioted in his office and allowed himself to be admitted to the closed psychiatry. There he finds a CD that probably contains the list. He escapes from psychiatry. In the Olympic Stadium he wants to hand over the CD to Beck, his boss. Then the LKA inspector knocks him down and destroys the CD. Von Meuffels now has no evidence against the clique of influential tax evaders - another fight seems hopeless.

Reviews

“Crazy, disturbing, labyrinthine - those are promises that this crime thriller does not keep. Director Hermine Huntgeburth had previously with Matthias Brandt the surprising, ajar to the person Frank Schirrmacher intellectuals mess Männertreu rotated here she lets the actor by a paranoia-course gallop in which the obstacles are held up plenty predictable to solve the case. In the course of this case, which is frustrating in every respect, von Meuffels pours himself one wine after the other, but the intoxication remains. "

“'Wetlands' by Hermine Huntgeburth [...] finds beautiful, cloudy images for the loneliness of the wonderful inspector Hanns von Meuffels [...], who investigates in a Munich that is not knitted to be warm and cozy. Even the Olympic Stadium can be an ice cold place, the tennis club, the kebab shop. […] In this episode, however, the resolution, at least for Munich police-call conditions, is rather clumsy, the film runs out of subtle power. "
