The Swiss Association for Quality and Management Systems (SQS) is an organization for certification and the implementation of tests and audits . It was founded in 1983 and as of 2016 employs around 150 permanent employees and 300 freelance auditors.
The head office is in Zollikofen in the canton of Bern , with a branch office in Milan .

The SQS is organized as an association under Swiss law. The board consists of 7 people, the CEO is Felix Müller, the operational management is carried out by the CEO and 7 other members of the management.
Most important fields of activity
Similar to TÜV in Germany, SQS carries out certification of management systems and for a large number of standards, carries out tests and audits for various industries and offers courses and training courses, many of them in cooperation with other companies and organizations. According to its own statement, SQS has a market share of around 70% in Switzerland. The focus is clearly on the certification of quality management systems , as well as environmental management systems , occupational safety and many industry-specific standards .
Accreditation
At the Swiss accreditation body, SQS is responsible for ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 14001 (environmental management), ISO 50001 (energy management), OHSAS 18001 (occupational safety), eduQua (further training), ISO 22000 (food safety), ISO 20000 (IT service management) ), ISO 27001 (Information Security Management) and for many industry-specific standards.
