occupation

Cassandra's Warning is a TV movie from the crime series Polizeiruf 110 . The film, produced on behalf of Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) and directed by Dominik Graf , was first broadcast on August 21, 2011. It is the 321st Police Call 110 episode and the first case for Chief Inspector Hanns von Meuffels .

In his first case, the inspector is investigating a police officer. Since Mr. von Meuffels first has to prove himself at the Munich police headquarters, he is initially not taken seriously, which makes the investigation even more difficult.

action

In the house of the policeman Gerry Vogt, his wife is shot. Since he is not allowed to investigate himself in this case, Chief Inspector Hanns von Meuffels, who has just moved to the Munich police headquarters, is to take over the case. Surprisingly, it turns out that it was not Diana Vogt who fell victim to the attack, but a friend who was alone in the house. Gerry Vogt suspects Cassandra , with whom he was having an affair, of wanting to kill his wife because she does not accept the end of their relationship.

Diana Vogt is placed under personal protection, and von Meuffels tries to find Cassandra with Gerry Vogt's help. Her apartment is empty and the superintendent can only secure a cigarette butt, but that doesn't help because the DNA comes from a man. All traces are cleverly covered, and so von Meuffels would like to set a trap for the perpetrator. Before he can think about it any further, Diana Vogt is attacked again. Your guard, Kumi Rüth, is inexplicably poisoned and someone has obviously sneaked into the house. Diana Vogt remains unharmed thanks to the continued police presence.

Von Meuffels has the feeling during his investigation that something is wrong. None of Vogt's colleagues has ever seen Cassandra. They also don't actually know his wife, who is very wealthy due to an inheritance. In the short term, Meuffels hopes to gain knowledge about Cassandra from the transvestite Pandora Büchschen, who works for Vogt as an informant, but that doesn't help him either. All that remains is the plan to trap Cassandra and use a decoy. Diana Vogt is also interested in ending the threat, so she agrees. Vogt's house is monitored with the greatest possible security and a police officer disguised as Diana Vogt, as one does not want to endanger a civilian. Gerry Vogt is supposed to stay at the police headquarters in order to give the impression that only the potential victim is in the house. After the house was actually attacked, but ultimately no one could be caught, Vogt wanted to go abroad with his wife. Von Meuffels analyzes the events of the last night and finds out that Vogt is playing a wrong game. Cassandra never existed in the way Vogt would have us believe. He himself had his wife shot by his lover and then passed her off as Diana Vogt. The wrong couple is then arrested.

Reviews

Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv writes very praising: “'Cassandra's warning' is not suitable for Sunday murder guessing. The film is a police film, a thriller, a relationship story - and this 'police call' is a game with the viewer. The layout of the story is unusual, the plot is exciting, a finality is always given despite the playful digressions and side stories. The film is dense, restless, full of surprises. Concentrated debut of Matthias Brandt. "

“Violence and melancholy - that results in a risky dialectic. Not every actor should shoulder that. Count is lucky that he was allowed to shoot the pilot for the new Munich 'Polizeiruf 110', in which Matthias Brandt will from now on be the investigator. Brandt belongs to that rare type of actor who brings together the most varied of sensations in unexcited play without this appearing to be a contradiction. Such a person can be kicked and insulted in his role without looking weak. "
