Tatorte is a TV film from the ARD crime series Polizeiruf 110 . The report produced on behalf of Bayerischer Rundfunk is the 374th episode of Polizeiruf 110 and was broadcast for the first time on Sunday, December 16, 2018 . It is the 15th and last case of the Munich police call investigator Hanns von Meuffels .

action

In the parking lot of a drive-in cinema one is a psychiatrist shot in front of their 7-year-old daughter. At first glance, it is a family drama involving blackmail and a dispute over custody of their daughter. For the new and ambitious colleague Nadja Micoud of the Munich commissioner Hanns von Meuffels it seems clear that the ex-husband of the woman who was shot is the murderer. His daughter, who escaped from the scene and is in shock, tells the supervising psychologist that the father is the one who appeared at the scene. For von Meuffels, however, there are inconsistencies based on the evidence, e.g. For example, why the father, who has sole custody, shot the fleeing child and left him with incriminating photos, with which he was blackmailed, at the scene of the crime. Therefore, he continues to investigate.

In his private life, von Meuffels is very much concerned with his failed relationship with the police psychologist Constanze Hermann. She has recently started working as a trainer in Nuremberg and has left the shared Munich apartment, which von Meuffels refuses to accept. He calls her several times a day, which repeatedly distracts him from the case and makes him appear very irritated when interacting with his new colleague. She investigates Meuffels' doubts and discovers, in an expert report prepared by the dead psychiatrist in a custody dispute, a connection to a father whose daughter and wife had died as a result of the expert opinion.

Von Meuffels and Micoud want to interview this man. But before von Meuffels can react, the perpetrator shoots Micoud. When he also aims at von Meuffels, the latter can forestall him and shoot the man. Shocked, the inspector crouches in front of his dead colleague and blames himself for this drama. Because while Micoud was purposefully approaching the alleged perpetrator's apartment, von Meuffels was again distracted by a private phone call with his former partner. Von Meuffels is determined to quit his job. He writes a letter of resignation and has a service weapon and badge ready. The only hope that remains for him is that he might be able to stay with Constanze like this. In the last scene Constanze comes to von Meuffels' apartment, they are sitting on the couch together watching Blockheads , a Stan and Ollie film , and she leans against him. Whether they will continue their relationship and whether von Meuffels actually quits remains open in the end.

Reviews

“This police call about final investigations, long car journeys and endless longing is crime thriller in perfection and the final incarnation of the television character Meuffels. Departure Brandt, sad strings at the end are dispensed with. "

“This surreal episode is a nice, fitting farewell piece for Matthias Brandt, who wants to turn to other roles again. His Hanns von Meuffels was the great melancholy among the investigators and the most consistent driver. He's had harrowing cases since 2011 [...] a few petty, some special, and just insane good ones [...]. But above all, he had his car, which was like a protective cage when he drove to strange Bavarian people, to the living and the dead, through landscapes that simply passed without him really having to explore them. It was his ability to keep the distance that the melancholic needs, especially the melancholic man. "
