Lothar Schöne

Lothar Schöne (born July 16, 1949 in Herrnhut , Saxony ) is a German journalist and writer .

Life

Schöne grew up in Offenbach am Main and Frankfurt am Main . After a bank apprenticeship, he studied German, political science and economics at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. He completed his studies in 1978 with the state examination. In 1979 he taught German at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire . From 1981 to 1986 he was a member of the culture section of the Mainzer “ Allgemeine Zeitung ”. Then he continued his studies; In 1994 he obtained his doctorate in philosophy at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen with a thesis on the theater system of the Weimar Republic . Schöne has been a writer since the 1980s. In 1982 he applied for the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize .

Schöne is the author of novels, short stories, essays , dramas, television scripts, poems and radio plays. He received u. a. The following awards: 1985 the Fachinger Culture Prize, 1988 the Tuttlinger Literature Prize, 1993 the City Clerk's Office of Klagenfurt , 1997 the Literature Prize of the City of Offenbach, 1998 a grant for the Künstlerhof Schreyahn , 2002 a grant from the German Academy Rome - Villa Massimo and in 2004 the City Clerk's Office of Erfurt .

Schöne lives in Heidenrod / Taunus .
