Franz Suhrada

Franz Suhrada (born June 26, 1954 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor .

Live and act

Suhrada completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk before joining the Krauss drama school in Vienna at the age of 19 . He had his first stage engagement in 1975 - while still studying - in the Theater der Courage , which is now part of the Drachengasse Theater . For his portrayal in Die Eisernen by Aldo Nicolaj, he received the Critics' Prize that same year. In 1976 he gave up his originally learned profession and now worked full-time as an actor. Various engagements as a theater actor took him to Salzburg, Berlin, Hamburg, Prague, Dessau and Leipzig, among others.

He became known to the Austrian television audience primarily through his role as police officer Schreyvogel in the ORF TV series Kottan . He also appeared in the series Tohuwabohu , A real Viennese does not go under and the Alpine saga . In the series Cafe Lotto he played a waiter for 13 years.

He also works as a spokesperson for advertisements and audio books. The audio books he has spoken include Wiener Schmankerln and two Kottan episodes published as audio books ( Hartlgasse 16a and The Birthday ). Most recently, Suhrada was in the Wiener Kammerspiele in Der Hausfreund by Eugène Marin Labiche (2005), at the Vereinigte Bühnen Bozen in Der Floh im Ohr by Georges Feydeau (2007) and The Imaginary Sick by Molière (2007/2008), several times in big roles, directed by Felix Dvorak at the Stadttheater Berndorf and the Komödienspiele Mödling as well as at the stadtTheater walfischgasse in Die Eisernen by Aldo Nicolaj. In 2010 he worked in the movie Kottan Determined: Rien ne va plus .
