Erhard Göttlicher

Erhard Göttlicher (born September 4, 1946 in Graz ) is an Austro-German painter , graphic artist and book illustrator .

Erhard Göttlicher studied art from 1967 to 1971 at the Werkkunstschule Wiesbaden , Industriskole Copenhagen and Werkkunstschule Bielefeld , here with Karl-Heinz Meyer . From 1971 to 1974 he studied at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts under Kurt Kranz and Alfred Hrdlicka . In 1975 he became a lecturer in nude and figurative drawing at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences , department of design . After scholarships at the Villa Massimo and Casa Baldi in Rome (1978/1979), he was appointed professor in 1980. The state of Schleswig-Holstein granted him a travel grant for Cuba in 1981. There he was a guest of the Cuban Ministry of Culture. In 1984 he was appointed professor for "media illustration". From 1987 to 1993 he was artistic director of the International Academy for Art and Design "Pentiment" in Hamburg.

More than 160 solo exhibitions have been dedicated to Erhard Göttlicher. He was involved in nearly 450 exhibitions in 39 countries. His works are permanently represented in over 30 national and international museums. He prefers to use acrylic , pastel and lead on paper, cardboard and canvas for his works . Göttlicher belongs to the artists' association in Germany , which is committed to the "realism of the present".

He lives in Uetersen and is a second married man and has two sons.

In the local elections on May 26, 2013, he ran for the Greens in Uetersen and received 21% of the vote.
