Culture award of the Pinneberg district

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Pinneberg district annually awards a recognition award for artists and a sponsorship award for young artists.
In 2016 the prize was renamed "Drosteipreis - The Pinneberg District Culture Prize" .

Allocation modalities

The prizes are awarded to individuals or groups of people for special artistic achievements in the fields of fine arts, music, literature and the performing arts.
The prerequisite is that they live in the Pinneberg district or have spent a large part of their life in the Pinneberg district or have a regular relationship with the district in their artistic work. Each person or group of people can only be awarded the respective prize once.

Two different cultural prizes have only been awarded since 2003 (decision of the Pinneberg district council of June 21, 2003). Until then, one culture prize was usually awarded annually as a recognition or sponsorship prize for artists with special consideration of the next generation of artists, and only two in exceptional cases.

An age restriction has been in effect for the youth development award since 2018 and is awarded to adolescents and young adults up to the age of 35.

The recognition award is endowed with 5,000 euros and the sponsorship award for young artists is endowed with 2,500 euros.

All residents of the Pinneberg district, the municipalities of the district and the members of the culture award jury can submit suggestions for the award ceremony. Self-applications are not considered.

Composition of the jury

The jury sits down

  • three independent experts from each of the three art branches
  • one member each of the parliamentary groups represented in the Pinneberg district council,
  • the chairman of the district culture association and
  • two representatives of the institutions dealing with culture in the Pinneberg district

together.
