Valeri Krivoborodov

Valeri Krivoborodov (* 1947 in Moscow ) is the first solo cellist of the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra .

Life

As the son of a physicist, mathematician and amateur musician, he began playing the cello at the age of four. At the age of seven he received piano lessons ; later the violin was added. In 1953 Valeri Krivoborodov was accepted into the famous Tchaikovsky Conservatory at the Central Music School in Moscow . At the age of eight he gave his first public concert, at thirteen he already performed with an orchestra as a soloist in Haydn's cello concerto.

His studies led to encounters with the most important interpreters of the 20th century: Oistrach , Gilels , Svyatoslaw Richter . He took lessons from Rostropovich , he later worked with Shostakovich and saw Stravinsky in Moscow. Valeri Krivoborodov then completed a master class and studies with the achievement of the doctoral degree. In 1973 he became a member of the Moscow Chamber Orchestra under Rudolf Barschai . Krivoborodov worked with many great conductors such as Kondrashin and Roshdestvensky .

In 1980 Valeri Krivoborodov emigrated to the Federal Republic of Germany via Cyprus . In the same year he was appointed solo cellist with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra . Valeri Krivoborodov lives in Halstenbek near Hamburg .
