history
In 1887 a newspaper appeared in Uetersen with the name Advertisement sheet for Uetersen and the surrounding area . The first issue was published on Easter Sunday April 10th. There the following declaration was printed: “Not only fulfilling a well-justified need that has long been felt, but also the general wish to offer our city a politically free, but also independent and free newspaper, we hereby allow ourselves to present our dear readers with the first issue of the same. “This newspaper was later named Uetersener Nachrichten . It ceased its publication during the inflation and was not reissued until 1924 .
In 1929 the Uetersener Nachrichten publishing house bought the Uetersener Tageblatt, which was founded in 1864, and combined the two newspapers. For this reason, the 150th anniversary was celebrated in 2014. During the National Socialist era , the newspaper, which when first published, emphasized the lack of political tendencies, became a distinctive National Socialist newsletter . After the Second World War , the paper became impartial again and reports neutrally on the events in the area of distribution and the world.
Until the beginning of 2016, Uetersener Nachrichten was published by Uetersener Nachrichten GmbH under the direction of Lebrecht and Roland von Zielberg.
In February 2016, Uetersener Nachrichten and Verlag A. Beig announced that A. Beig Druckerei und Verlag GmbH & Co. KG had taken over the newspaper and its weekly papers with retroactive effect from the beginning of 2016 . According to von Zielberg, the decision to take this step had matured “because of the changes in reading behavior and the increasing need for digital offers”. Previously, the publisher's newspapers had been printed by Verlag A. Beig for many years and the cover pages had also been obtained from there since 2004 .
