The daily newspaper is divided into four books: Local (reporting from the municipalities in the Pinneberg district and Ellerau, Bad Segeberg), regional (Pinneberg district, Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg), national (Germany and the world) and miscellaneous.

history

The Elmshorn bookbinder Claus Hinrich Dieck published the first edition of the Elmshorner Nachrichten on October 1, 1851 . He referred to the local newspaper, which initially comprised four pages, as an "entertainment and intelligence paper". In 1877 Claus Hinrich Dieck sold the Elmshorner Nachrichten to Julius Schüthe, who ran it until his death. In 1901, editor Emil Koch took over the daily newspaper from Julius Schüthe, in whose family Elmshorner Nachrichten remained until spring 1971. After an inheritance dispute, the Koch family sold the daily newspaper to Axel Springer Verlag , which in 2009 sold it to the Schleswig-Holstein newspaper publisher sh: z. On January 1, 2013, A. Beig-Verlag took over operations from the Schleswig-Holstein newspaper publisher sh: z.

Edition

The edition of the Elmshorner Nachrichten has been reported together with the Barmstedter Zeitung since 2012 . Both newspapers have lost circulation in recent years. The number of copies sold has fallen by an average of 4.5% per year since 2012. Last year the decrease was 7.2%. It is currently 7960 copies. The share of subscriptions in the circulation sold is 86 percent.
