Felix Scheinberger

Felix Scheinberger (* 1969 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German draftsman and illustrator . In addition to children's books, magazines and games, he has also illustrated various books for adults and authored textbooks.

Career

Felix Scheinberger studied communication design in Hamburg with a focus on illustration with Klaus Ensikat and Erhard Göttlicher and later published for the Gutenberg book guild and the Hermann Schmidt publishing house in Mainz. He became famous as an illustrator of books, for example through the illustration of Paul Auster's In the Land of Last Things (2001) or Thomas Mann's Death in Venice (2005). In 2011 Max Frisch's Homo Faber was published in the Gutenberg Book Guild . He has also written various textbooks on drawing and illustration, such as Courage to Sketchbook , Watercolor for Designers and "Illustration", all published by Verlag Hermann Schmidt, Mainz. In 2007 he worked as a lecturer in drawing and illustration at the HAW Hamburg and the Mainz University of Applied Sciences . In 2008 he was visiting professor for drawing and illustration at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design Jerusalem. Since September 2010 he has been teaching drawing and illustration in the design department of the Münster University of Applied Sciences ; initially as a substitute professor and since September 2012 as professor.

Felix Scheinberger has been a member of the board of trustees of the literary magazine Belletristik since 2008 . From 2010 to 2012 he was deputy chairman of the Illustratoren Organization (IO), the professional association of German-speaking illustrators. Scheinberger lives in Berlin .
