Andreas Tobias

Andreas Tobias (born December 6, 1984 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) is a German artist , photographer , actor and speaker .

Life

Tobias made his theater debut at the age of eleven on the stage of the Kurtheater Garmisch. While still at school he founded a theater group and directed a. a. The Rhinos and The Bald Singer from Ionesco . From 2001 he played small television roles on Bavarian television . After he had financed his acting lessons with a job as a ticket teller in the cinema, he shot the ARD three-parter Der Wunschbaum alongside Alexandra Maria Lara , Michael Degen and Meret Becker . Further television productions followed. He moved to Hamburg for a leading role in the ZDF series Die Albertis , where he graduated from high school in 2005. In the same year he played Melchior in Wedekind's Spring Awakening at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus . More pieces followed on the house. In 2006 he could be seen in Mark Ravenhills Shoppen und Ficken at Theaterfabrik Hamburg . From the 2006 season to 2009 he was a member of the ensemble at the Munich Volkstheater .

After completing the shooting of the film Nanga Parbat , in which he played Günther Messner , who died in an accident at Nanga Parbat in 1970 , he took a break after ten years in the acting profession and moved to Brussels to study French . In 2011 he got back to work as an actor with the theater production Ein Volksfeind at the Schauspielhaus Basel .

In addition to acting, the subjects of light art and photography moved more and more into his focus. In 2011 Andreas Tobias had his first exhibition with the title “Caution Zerbrechlich” in Munich, in which a series of light objects was shown. In May 2013 his first solo exhibition with photographs took place in Berlin.
