Martin Heindel

Martin Heindel (born 1976 ) is a trained dramaturge . He works as a director and writer of radio plays and films .

Life

Heindel studied dramaturgy at the Bavarian Theater Academy and the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . After completing his studies in 2003, he worked as an assistant director for radio plays and features at RBB and WDR. In 2004 he directed a radio play for the first time. This was followed by numerous adaptations of novels , graphic novels , short stories and plays . Since 2012 he has been writing and staging his own radio plays and directing award-winning radio productions. He was the director of the children's radio play The wonderful adventure of Florinde vom Hohenfels by Susanne C. Friedmann and Georg K. Berres,rbb 2009, which received the MDR Children's Radio Play Prize in 2010 and the feature Das Pogrom von Hoyerswerda by Julia Fritzsche and Sebastian Dörfler , BR 2016, which won the Wilhelm-Freiherr-von-Pechmann Prize in 2018 . The mockumentary feature First Contact by Thomas Palzer , created under his direction, was the German contribution to the Prix ​​Europa 2016.

For his radio play thriller Der Wald , he was nominated for the Kurd-Laßwitz Prize in the main category Best Radio Play in 2018 .

He lives and works in Munich .
