Ralf Haarmann

Ralf Haarmann (* 1970 in Wuppertal ) is a German composer , musician and installation artist as well as a radio play director .

Life

Haarmann had a studio in Berlin from 1996 to 1998, in Wuppertal from 1997 to 2002 and in 2004 at the Kunsthaus Essen . From 2002 to 2005 he studied “Electronic Composition” at the Folkwang University in Essen , but left the university prematurely. His work includes compositions for radio plays , theater and electro-acoustic concert pieces. He publishes under the name Haarmann and is a member of the formations haarmannhommelsheim (with Christiane Hommelsheim) and randomTRIGGER (with Silvia Munzón Lopéz). Together with Christiane Hommelsheim, he founded the label Klangmœbel in 2011. The album "The Edge of Nothing" by haarmannhommelsheim will be listed on Zeit-Online in 2018 as an insider tip under The Best Music of the Year . Haarmann lives and works in Münster and Berlin.
