action

Kate O'Hara, a young fashion designer, is part of a family business in Ireland, a linen weaving mill. Her husband Patrick is also involved in the company. The couple, who outwardly present a harmonious family, have been in crisis for a long time. Since Kate and Patrick's desire to have children has not come true, Kate's father, Jonathan MacKenzie, was able to convince his daughter in particular to adopt little Theresa. However, there is a secret about the child that Jonathan has kept to himself. Theresa is the daughter of Gregory O'Reilly, an illegitimate son of the Patriarch. The child was entrusted to him by his son some time before his death. Kate is a self-sacrificing mother to little Theresa and takes this task very seriously. Because of this, there are more than once arguments with Patrick, who has little to do with the child.

During this difficult time for her, Kate meets her old friend Nicholas again, who works as a lawyer and has come back to his home country to take a break. The old familiarity between the two is right back and the feeling of mutual love quickly returns, this time also with Kate, who had no idea that Nicholas loved her back then.

Little does Jonathan MacKenzie suspect that his son lied to him about the fact that Theresa's mother was also dead. In truth, Gregory took the opportunity when Claire Mooloy, Theresa's mother, was in the hospital and had entrusted the child to him for this time in order to withdraw Theresa. Claire, who never stopped looking for her daughter, now knows where Theresa lives. She is determined to get her daughter back. She observes the child in its new, luxurious environment and indecisively withdraws for the time being. Then she decides to ask a lawyer for advice and ends up with Nicholas. He asks her not to do anything for the time being. But when Claire tries to approach her daughter anyway, she suffers an accident and is taken to the hospital. Theresa recognizes her mother on the stretcher, but only tells Nicholas that she recognized her mother. He promises the girl that he will take care of everything. Theresa runs away, however, and ends up with her mother in the hospital. After they both flee from there, Jonathan initiates a large-scale search operation, at the end of which Claire and Theresa are separated again.

Nicholas can convince Claire that Theresa has a wonderful life in her current family and a future in which all possibilities are open to her. Claire then makes a decision that demands everything from her, as she cannot offer her daughter a fraction of what she has now. So she writes her daughter a letter in which she explains everything to her. Patrick, who has been instructed by Jonathan to meet with Claire, receives a letter from her that he should give Theresa. Since he is in financial difficulties, he sees this as an opportunity to put the money Jonathan gave him for Claire's waiver into his own pocket. He forges the documents and tears up the letter for Theresa.

Theresa is bitterly disappointed when her grandfather tells her the version that Patrick served him. She only complains to Nicholas, who switches quickly and uncovered Patrick's machinations, which Jonathan has now discovered. Patrick leaves the company and family without regrets. Claire returns and takes her daughter to live with her. Kate remains in love with Nicholas, with whom she wants to make a fresh start in Paris.

criticism

As is the case with most of the films in this series, the verdict on TV feature films was negative. There it said: "Unbelievable: Almost all common Schmonzette plots combined in a single TV melodrama." Conclusion: "Shake everything clean and powerful!"

The portal film service dismissed the film with similar words: “(TV) drama off the peg; sentimental, shallow conversation according to the usual Pilcher scheme. "

Also TV Movie blew that horn was an excitement and feeling of two possible three points, and drew the conclusion: "So languishing like the cheesy title."
